Stephen is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Certified Addiction Professional, and graduate from Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Florida. He has a Masters Degree in Social Work, Bachelors Degree in Social Work, and BA in Criminal Justice. Stephen brings a very strong clinical background to Genesis House. He puts a strong emphasis on reality therapy, anger management, cognitive behavioral therapy, and empowering clients through solution-focused modalities. He also has extensive training in psychopathology which generally occurs simultaneously with substance dependence disorders. As a licensed clinical social worker, Stephen also works very closely with the family system which is an intricate part of the recovery process.
Robert has a BA in Sociology. He is from New Jersey where he developed an extensive background working with a dual diagnosed population. Robert also brings to the Genesis House Agency extensive training in behavior modification and anxiety management. He has strong Christian roots and theological studies to enhance the development necessary to address the emotional and spiritual deprivation synonymous with addiction. Robert incorporates a special emphasis in the area of adult children of alcoholics. He also has a background in low- elements ropes course training. He also incorporates Adventure Based Counseling which is designed to promote personal development through therapeutic group activities.
Natasha has her Masters Degree in Social Work from Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, FL and is currently working on her licensure. Natasha's therapeutic approaches include CBT, Narrative Therapy, and Solution Focused Therapy to enable her clients to maximize and benefit the most, during this healing process. Natasha has fifteen years of personal and professional experience in the substance abuse field that helps to facilitate client's social rehabilitation and family reunification. Natasha's ethical and extensive training helps to assist clients in developing self awareness, accountability, appropriate coping skills, daily life skills, and effective decision making skills.
John has a BS degree in Behavioral Science and MA degree in Mental Health counseling. He is currently working on his LMHC. John's therapeutic approaches include: CBT, Solution Focused Brief Therapies, Motivational Interviewing modalities and is certified in Energy Psychology techniques. John works with clients suffering from the disease of addiction and co-occurring disorders such as anxiety, depression, trauma, Impulse control disorder and PTSD issues. John has a background in Law Enforcement and a working knowledge of the criminal justice system. He is also a combat wounded veteran.
Susan has a Masters Degree in Professional Counseling. She is currently working on her LMHC. Susan uses principles from Person Centered, Psychodynamic and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and utilizes an eclectic approach in treatment with a strong bibliotherapy component. With over a decade of working in education she is an advocate of lifelong learning and focuses on empowering clients by helping them understand that they are entirely capable of fulfilling their own potential for growth.
Laura is a Registered Nurse, Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Sex Therapist and Hypno Therapist. Her primary duties for Genesis is Utilization Review, insurance verification and quality assurance. Laura also does counseling due to her vast experience and knowledge in addiction and mental health treatment field. Laura works closely with the agencies doctors and handles initial medical histories on new incoming patients to Genesis House.
Karen M. Gauci is a registered and licensed Dietitian and Nutritionist with a Master's Degree in Public Health and is currently in private practice in Boca Raton, Florida. SHe is the owner and president of the 2001 Nutrition Services, Inc., a company with the philosophy of providing education, teaching and counseling in all areas related to nutrition: substance abuse, psychiatric disorders, weight management, chronic disease risk reduction, health promotion and wellness, sports nutrition, pediatrics, eating disorders, and local and national presentations.
Dr. Thomas E. Jordan, Jr. is an Ivy League trained Psychiatrist who holds medical degrees from the University of Florida and the Université de Toulouse, France and a Master of Public Health degree from the University of Michigan. He trained in Psychiatry and Child Psychiatry at Brown University and Harvard University. He is board certified in Psychiatry, Forensic Psychiatry, and Administrative Psychiatry with certifications as a Medical Review Officer for drug testing and buprenorphine opiate detoxification. Dr. Jordan has over 25 years professional experience in general, adolescent and child psychiatry, alcohol and substance abuse treatment, and eating disorders. He served many years as the Clinical Director for the largest psychiatric hospitals in Michigan. Dr. Jordan is a Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association.
