Thanksgiving was another wonderful success this year at Genesis House. Preparations began the week leading up to Thanksgiving and continued right up until it was time to eat.
Although it can certainly be difficult to be away from family during the holidays, our clients know they are in the right place getting the help they need to lead successful, clean and sober lives. With the preparations being made all week and everybody pitching in, the Thanksgiving feast at Genesis House is always an impressive one and this year was no different.
Our clients prepare their own families best recipes, using family secrets, which leads to an incredible meal of fantastic variety. This years meat selection was impressive; we had five Turkeys prepared using five different cooking styles, three Hams, two roasts. The sides were plentiful, with mashed potatoes served in every way you could imagine, stuffing prepared five ways, all the veggies and every other accoutrement you could imagine. And of course there was so many pies, cookies and confections that the dessert table had to be made into two dessert tables! All in all another fantastic clean and sober Thanksgiving feast!!
